FORNACE49 was entrusted with the restoration of all the lighting fixtures that decorate the OLD PROCURATIE of Piazza San Marco 105 in Venice, the recently restored representative office of Assicurazioni Generali Spa.

The artefacts were subjected to the following work phases, necessary for the success of the required operations.

1. Collection of all packaging at the Generali Spa offices in Campo Santo Stefano in Venice, during which it was found that several boxes were still soaked in water that flooded the premises during the 2019 Acqua Granda water transport and land, carried out by a specialized company, at our headquarters in Mira where they were stored.
2. Opening of the packaging and simultaneous verification of the state of the lighting fixtures, with subsequent taking of samples to create the missing pieces at the furnace. All the samples taken were adequately identified and labelled, so that the cataloging already carried out by another company was not compromised.
3. Transfer of the individual lighting fixtures to the furnace, where all subsequent processes were carried out.
4. Washing, cleaning and restoration of all the individual pieces followed by the recomposition of the lighting fixtures (complete with spare parts carried out).
5. Updating the frames to standards with replacement of wooden discs, bases and any color restoration when necessary.
6. Complete wiring of all systems, including the replacement of lamp holders, cables, terminals and insertion of low consumption LED bulbs, previously hot-painted amber.
7. Water and land transport for the return of all packaging to the construction site.
8. Reassembly and installation of the lighting fixtures positioned according to the design indications with the aid of ladders, scaffolding and anything else that was necessary to deliver the finished work in a workmanlike manner.

The restoration work of the lighting fixtures, taken over in July 2021, ended in September 2021, but the artefacts were stored in our warehouse until December 2021, when they were reassembled at the Assicurazioni Generali Spa headquarters.

• brushing and repainting of the frame, creation of new wiring to bring the lighting fixtures up to standard, including cables and terminals, with subsequent testing and certification
